Honestly, I didn't think it was humanly possible, but everything from the forum's layout to the messages is more cryptic than anything Thom himself has ever posted on the internet. Yes, even worse than the Scrap Book from radiohead.com. I mean, seriously, who are these people? What are they talking about? They sure ain't talking about Radiohead. Who are they talking to? I can't follow a single string of conversation on this bloody clusterfuck of 1s and 0s.

It reads like a Thom Yorke impersonating contest that has been dragged on for a decade. Or maybe they are Thom's 1000 monkeys and typewriters, he gets his lyrics from them. Or maybe it's just Thom himself posting.

i see your point. i guess some people can make conversation under the harshest circumstances... if that is what is happening there

the official mb is a little hard to break into, especially if you're used to mb's like mt or atease. the conversations there disappear pretty quickly, its much more about talking just at the moment. also the people there seem to know each other pretty well so it really does have a feeling of a closed circle that is difficult to get into. kinda weird that radiohead would go that route for their official board.

i dunno, i used to post there, and it definitely took a bit of time to really get into it, to be acknowledged by people there, and then i lost interest sooner because it seemed so much effort for so little fleeting reward.

It was a lot better back in the "Ok Computer" days.

Thom and Jonny used to go on there all the time.

Thom actually responded to one of my posts and I nearly had a heart attack...
it's sad how little of an acknowledgement it takes from one of your heroes to get excited.

It was around the time that they were first unveiling the blinking bear imagery in the lead-up to "Kid A."

Everyone was speculating on what the bear was supposed to represent and I posted a link to a Noam Chomsky website and said that everyone was wasting their time speculating on what the meaning of the bear when there were more serious issues to discuss (I was extremely idealistic at the time),

Thom responded with, "You don't understand, the bears are the cause of it all."

I thought it was a really funny and cheeky way to take the piss.

it's supposed to be quirky but it's just a waste of time.
