Is anyone aware of any interview(s) where Ed discusses his role in adding additional / backup vocals? I've really noticed over the past few years how much this adds to RH's overall sound (mainly live, since I assumed Thom does all the vocals on record). When the mix is right, it really adds to their live performances... There's always so much attention given to how awesome Thom's voice is (which is very deserved, of course), but I was just curious if Ed, Thom, or anyone had discussed Ed's vocals in any interviews, etc....?

every day I wake up I think, Ed should sing more.

and his vocals are at least on Pablo Honey and The Bends, probably OK Computer, and I think he's credited on HTTT though I've heard otherwise, and I swear it sounds like him on the backing notes in Weird Fishes.

p sure it's him in weird fishes. there's probably some other places where it's hard to tell because of both thom and ed voices in the backing vocals

I'm also pretty sure Ed does his best to make his voice sound like Thom. he matches him pretty well live.

I read an interview where Ed states that Weird Fishes is the only song he's ever done the vocals for (on an album that is) and it was because Thom couldn't get it to feel like it did live.

man, I gotta doubt that just a little. mostly because it's the first time I've heard that, isn't Ed credited for vocals on the earlier albums?, and listening to, say, (Nice Dream) at 2:11, there's at least one vocal track there that doesn't sound like it could be Thom.

Ed has a nice sounding voice. Him doing backing vocals is just dandy, but one thing I don't want is Radiohead to come down with "two lead singer syndrome"... I've seen it happen to many bands before (System of a Down comes to mind) and though the gents who provide vocal support certainly have a fair amount of chops, two lead singers, especially when the original one is so brilliant, is not a great idea.

i might be mistaken but i'm pretty sure that Ed does backups on Optimistic on Kid A.
Is how you to see it through the light of God and the understanding of God
because when you see the face of God, you will die
and there will be nothing left of you
except the God-man, the God-woman
the heavenly man, the heavenly woman the heavenly child
there'll be prayer on your lips day and night
there'll be a song of jubilee waiting for your king
there will be nothing you will not be be looking for in this world
except in for your god this is all a dream a dream in death.

yeah, but why? most of the bands I listen to have two or more main vocalists. I love that.

I thought Ed did backing vocals in Blow Out and Nice Dream?

Grizzly Bear comes to my mind, all the four lads sing, two of them being "main". It would be weird if RH would twist into a Grizzly Bear scheme, but then again expect the unexpected with this band... This said MOAR ED, MOAR ED!

Ed should leave the band and go solo. It won't make much of a difference I Promise
The Aurors are part of the Rotfang Conspiracy, I thought everyone knew that. They're working from within to bring down the Ministry of Magic using a combination of Dark magic and gum disease.

I really think that after LP 8 comes out, the band should take a break and work on solo projects, though I'm afraid it might lead to a breakup.
But I have like Thom's solo work, and I should probably check out Jonny and Phil's as well.
It's just feels like Phil Ed and Colion are underaprreciated and should just do some solo work to showcase they're skills.

Ugh this guy. what a jackass. he spurned my advances when we were making pablo honey.

We shared a lot of summer lovin, had a blast, it happened so fast, i met this guy, whatever his name is again, crazy for me, cute as can be, oh those summer days drifted away.

we got very far, he had a car, swam by me and got a cramp, saved his life, he nearly drowned and got the bends.

he didnt put up a fight as we drank lemonade and stayed up until 10 oclock. it was a summer fling and didnt mean a thing except to me. tell me more about summer nights.

i actually wrote 'thinking about you' about him. what a tease.

What a loser and i am not scorned, i just think he is a loser and weird looking. the worst looking one. what a bore. i turned the interview off after a minute because i couldnt take it anymore. WHAT A BORE! looks really can't get you far in life if you are a bore. QUOTE ME ON THAT that is now my mantra.

i dont know why people like this idiot.

truthfully, he sang all of the songs on me because the other singer came down with the flu when recorded me and they didnt have the funds to take a break on me or anything.

"You" – 3:29
"Creep" – 3:56
"How Do You?" – 2:12
"Stop Whispering" – 5:26
"Thinking About You" – 2:41
"Anyone Can Play Guitar" – 3:38
"Ripcord" – 3:10
"Vegetable" – 3:13
"Prove Yourself" – 2:25
"I Can't" – 4:13
"Lurgee" – 3:08
"Blow Out" – 4:40

I'm almost convinced on a religious level that Ed's upcoming solo album, Edrock's and Coke, will sound a whole lot like Justin Bieber slowed down 800%, only with more fucked up background sounds. And some rocking pop singles.
