He claims he saw them in 2002, and that they were opening for Sum-41.

Now, I do not believe this. I think he must have them confused with someone else. I said to him, a) Radiohead didn't play any shows in America in 2002 (at least according to GP's tour dates section), and B) they wouldn't be an opening act (especially not for Sum-41). But he says he might have the date wrong, but he's pretty sure he saw them. And since I could be wrong, strange at it would seem to me in this case, I thought I'd ask here.

So...does anyone here know what he might be thinking of? Like maybe there was a festival both bands were at?

the bold part is suspicious. you see rh or you don't. you're not ''pretty sure'' about it.
i'm lying. i know some people go to gigs and don't give a shit who's playing.
this is going to make me cry for no reason.

You know, I suspected this might have been better suited to Live Talk.

Anyway, he was there for Sum-41, not Radiohead. Guy's favorite band is Linkin Park. So, yeah, I'm just trying to figure out if both bands were at a festival sometime between 2000-2005. That's the only possibility I can think of.

there's absolutely no way that they opened for Sum 41 in 2002, maybe he's thinking of like Mushroomhead or something

Today is April Fool's Day. That is probably what is going on here.

I posted this question yesterday, prior to April Fool's. Also, people make stupid joke threads all the time, regardless of the day.

In any case, I am serious in this question.

I suppose I'll check back tomorrow so that all the April Fool's answers won't be an issue.

No I'm saying that he was trying to fool you. What part of the world was this person in? It might have been said day in the part of the world he was in.

Oh, I see. I don't think that's the case with him though. It wouldn't make sense in the context of everything. And he's in the same time zone as me, Pacific, so it's not a matter of different days.

Just thought it was funny how it was assumed that he was chatting with this guy online rather than in person even though neither was specified. I also assumed this, but just was thinking abut how that if someone is chatting nowadays most people don't really think about in-person chatting anymore

Incidentally, I was chatting with the guy online. And I'm a woman. It was...at an online dating site. He messaged me and made this comment about seeing Radiohead opening for Sum-41, and I was like wtf? so I responded, and so on.

He routinely spelled "Seattle" as "Seatil" so, he will be cut soon, methinks. I just feel so mean breaking off contact. Even though I shouldn't, since it happens all the time.

I request that this now be moved to the sex health and relationships thread. :)

1st: Anybody to spells "seatil" is a retard.

2nd: He *thinks* he saw Radiohead open for Sum 41... the important part here is he remembers that Sum41 WERE in fact there there, but isn't sure if it was in fact Radiohead who opened for them. :) You see my point here? Let's just say in some crazy ass alternate universe, you happen to be at a concert where Radiohead open for Sum41. What kind of human being do you have to be to have SUM41 be the more memorable performance?!

You should probably put this guy on ignore at this point.
