last 4 albums, the title of the album has been a lyric in a song or in the name of a song. it's quite likely that the songs Thom has been playing recently represent a substantial chunk of LP8. maybe we'll accidentally predict the name of the new Atoms For Peace album but whatever- guess the title of LP8 in this thread. winner gets infinite bragging rights and massive board rep.

lyric sheets viewable at http://www.citizeninsane.eu/lp8.html

i say Radiohead - Good Bits Without The Bullshit. winter '10

Radiohead - Lotus Flower

other contenders:

Moon Upon a Stick (too close to In Rainbows)
Come To Your Senses
The Burning (alternate name for Burn the Witch)
The Present Tense (pretty ordinary for them)

my guess is that we haven't heard the lyric/song title that will name the album, kinda like how we couldn't guess In Rainbows since Reckoner didn't exist yet. same with Amnesiac

my best serious guess would be Waiting On The Rapture or just Burn The Witch, even though there's no evidence that the latter song is a candidate.

i don't know anything about my chemical romance, but i don't get why WOTR would offend you so much- it's a legit new lyric that touches on established Radiohead themes and would have some pleasing irony to it. what do you think it could be?

edit: and oh yeah, Skirting On The Surface or just Skirting The Surface. the song that's the emotional heart of the new material for me and that's what i call my LP8 playlist at least.

'Stalagmites & Stalagtites'. Meh. Kinda struggled with those lyrics, as good as most of them are. Just find it hard to choose something fitting without hearing more full-band arrangements, even if we know of the very general direction. Lotus Flower was a good call. Oh and 'Waiting for/on the Rapture' was also the name of a song off the last Oasis album. Just sayin'.

edit: Perhaps 'Awake' which comes with a free Jehovah's Witnesses publication and home Bible study.

Dear Radiohead,

In the event that you read message boards, and you read this thread in particular, I would find it incredibly amusing if you named your upcoming album either Waiting on the Rapture or Waiting for the Rapture just based on the fact that I have bolded above.

All the best,

Irene
sometimes you need the ocean to show you grace and children laughing to remind you you were once young, catching moths in the dark of your bedroom ocean out side your window on a night without moon. sometimes you need to jump in the ocean with all your clothes on and whoop like a loon in a lake then remember you are human with a human face.

not really... hail to the thief seemed like they were going back to the way they did things with the bends - crank out an album quickly - to clear their heads from all the second guessing and experimenting of kid amnesiac. i'm not really sure what they're doing here yet, exactly. taking their time. if i had to guess i'd say this will be a mature and confident album that will have flowed out of them easily and will be easy for us to digest.
