Surprisingly a OnePlus Three phone. I really really really want a good dslr or something... Never owned a good camera.

Not a surprise to this tech nerd, it's got 2 16mp Sony Sensors if I remember correctly.

Depends on your budget, the Sony A7 II is a full frame mirrorless camera (it's around £1,000).

If you don't want to spend that amount of money, then you should look at the budget end of the

Canon and Nikon DSLR ranges. I'm not a fan of mirrorless cameras, other Sony's efforts. So I'm

probably not the best person to ask about those.

Oh and I highly recommend you get Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson. I rapidly improved

once I got my hands on that book.

i really wanted to feel some sand between my toes so i drove 1.5 hours to see the ocean on saturday (took this pic barefoot despite it being ~40°F). it was really foggy, like the most fog i've ever seen in ct. gave me a very surreal edge-of-the-world feeling

Went a bit double exposure mad today. My camera has a double exposure feature, so it's fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it.

Also requires tweaking in Lightroom and Photoshop. But fun to do.

Ya its 16mp

It gets better and better and continually impressed.

I do like taking pictures of people and having a big camera is a bit frustrating becuase they suddenly pose.

Camera wise, I am not quite there yet. My money is being drained by other things. I have my 30th in May and hinted at a camera from the bf. I like mirrorless because they seem a bit more compact but I know they are more expensive.

Thanks for the book advice. I may go out and grab that this evening.

Problem with the oneplus three is the low light but thats to be expected from majority of cam phones

wow proves that gear means only so much (though i'd still sell my soul for a leica)

Talent counts a lot more than gear. My lens collection is pretty much complete, swapping bodies every couple of years

is not much of a hassle. I will eventually go full frame, helped a Japanese tourist use his 5DMKIV the other day. A case of going

straight to a professional model without learning how to take photographs in manual mode.

Quite happy with how this one turned out, used my carbon fibre tripod for the first in anger (it's really light compared to my collection of tripods).

absolutely beautiful colors <3

reminds me of all the small cafes with colorful storefronts that i saw in paris, they're oh-so picturesque

LOVE the spiral staircase shot. really cool contrast between the concrete and rustic-looking wood of the treads

that lighting and all around exposure in the first pic is also really stunning, i have a soft spot for that golden-glowy late-afternoon hue

i'm currently working on a project for my horticulture class where i have to take a picture of a lily twice a day from bloom til death, which takes about 2 weeks. it took me a long time to figure out good lighting but i think i'm happy with what i've come up with. only on my second day and amazed at how much my flower has changed in just one night! i'll definitely post all ~28 pics in some sort of collage when my flower has finally moved on from this earthly realm

Well I did some split toning to bring those colours out a bit more, the Covered Market is worth checking out while in Oxford (one of Oxford's gems for me).

The Blavatnik building is a cool building, it's circular in nature. I guess the glass in the Blavatnik warms the light up, it was late morning

when I took that. But the shadows looked cool, so click went the shutter.

Another double exposure, if I look miserable its because I'm recovering from tooth extractions (more to be done next month) -
