dunno like the core of the argument of das kapital could probably be summarised in less than 7 words. like if u want the core of the argument, it's everywhere. the only way not to see the core of the argument wd probably be to read the book

or: concept of "core of arguments" is a sad concept imo

according to jesus, this was sort of the core of the argument for the old testament:

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[c] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[d] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

oh whoa that passage has its own wikipedia page

John 3:16 (chapter 3, verse 16 of the Gospel of John) is one of the most widely quoted verses from the Christian Bible, and has been called the most famous Bible verse. It has also been called the "Gospel in a nutshell", because it is considered a summary of the central theme of traditional Christianity:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV)

maybe not that surprising!

that entire conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus is an interesting scene

teatro is great!!! penguin classics reissued his two other collections in one book: songs of a dead dreamer and grimscribe. Those collected works predate the ones from teatro but they are still fantastic. I was excited to learn that they are back in print

the worship he gets is so absurd.

i mean it's not that surprising that the uk would heroify their ww2 leader, but here in san antonio, texas of all fucking places there's a winston churchill high school, complete with statues, portraits, and plastered quotes.  i can't even make this up.
