  1. Two events sealed the deal: I saw them open for R.E.M. back in the day....and then shortly after I was up late one night and happened to catch the video premier of "Fake Plastic Trees" on 120 Minutes (you guys remember that show)?
  2. I've given these songs some time to digest. Roger: What I like the most about your song is the authenticity of it. It's got texture, something I could really wrap my hands around. And, even in its tiny imperfections, it simply sparks. Your style of playing is nothing new, but it's got heart. Something I feel Oreon's lacks a little in. Oreon: Your song was my initial attention grabber. I think as far as composition is concerned your music writing is pretty tight. The guitar at the end was nice, although I felt it could have used a bit more daring of a solo. The production quality seemed a bit muted and I felt like if I heard your song live it would be way more impacting. The whole sounding like Thom Yorke thing doesn't really bother me. I mean, if you can sing falsetto and fucking nail it then, by god, do it...which you did. But something was missing here and it's exactly what Roger's song has- soul. Roger, you get my vote this round. Great job to you both. Each of these songs really forced me to sit down and listen, they equally caught my attention. Okay, enough rhyming. AB4F biatch!
  3. Blackjacket: Your music makes me feel like I'm at Disney World on shrooms...it's eerily nostalgic, yet so different then anything I've ever heard before. Like I said in Round 1, the production quality is a bit grating on my ears, but then again, that could very well be your intention. Regardless, you get my vote.
  4. Damn this is a tough one. It's like a battle between Bob Dylan and Jeff Buckley. I'm going to have to sit on this one for a bit.
  5. Something I just noticed on my mailing label (for the US)...it says that the product was sent from "Brokers World Wide" located in Folcroft, PA. Which probably means that this company received a bulk shipment of TKOL when Radiohead said that they were releasing the album early and then it was up to this company to send it out. I don't know...I just see some people are upset cause they haven't gotten their album yet, maybe they should project their frustrations at the distributor and not the band.
  6. I got mine today...arrived at work. I haven't opened it yet. It's just sitting there, calling my name.
  7. To all those who lost in Round 1...I feel your pain. I was looking forward to hearing more of your music in Round 2, but sadly that is not the case...let's use this thread to share what we would have submitted in Round 2. Here's mine. Drive-By Disco Love
  8. Ah man...so bummed I lost Best of luck to everyone in Round 2...keep em coming. I'm loving all this new music.
  9. How the tables have turned. Congratulations dude. Best of luck in Round 2.
  10. Cool...Thanks. This contest has wrecked my stomach with anticipation. The grand winner should win a bottle of Xanax and a crate of Pepto.
  11. I'm going for Blackjacket because I can hear the potential of this song...I'd love to get my hands on this and polish it up. I'm not going to lie, the production quality, for me, makes it almost intolerable, but there's something deep in there that grabbed me.
  12. Love the piano and subtle guitar in "I Talked To The Devil", but I wish the vocals were more upfront...caught a few lines and really liked what I heard. I feel like I'm listening to an old 1930's Americana record with "I'll Be Around" and I like it...everyone is right with that Dylan feel. I wish there was more to this song though, I felt like I was left hanging and was waiting for something else to happen. This is a tough choice, but I'm going with Whitewash, it's the piano that got me.
